The Statue of Liberty The Statue of Liberty was presented to people of the USA by people of France on the 4th of July, 1884.It is the largest statue ever made. The right arm holds a great torch and the left hand holds a tablet with the date of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.
New York New York is one of the biggest cities in the USA, it’s the city of contrasts, because you can see ancient churches of 18th century and modern sky-scrapers. People of different races and nationalities live here.
Washington Washington is also visited by tourists, here you can see the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the White House and the Capitol. In 1791 G.Washington chose it as a capital. But there is no sky-scrapers here, and no buildings higher than the Capitol.
New Zealand New Zealand is the state in the southwest part of the Pacific Ocean. The population is 3,8 million people. The official language is English, Maori. The country is divided into 92 counties. The capital of the country is Wellington. The head of the state is the queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The relief of New Zealand The most part the country is occupied by hills and mountains (the highest point is the Cook on the Southern island, 3764 m, it is covered with eternal snow and glaciers). There is the Volcanic plateau (active volcanoes, geysers, frequent earthquakes) on the northern island .
Australia Australia was discovered by Captain cook in 1770.It is an unusual country, New Year is in the middle of summer, summer months are never cold, hot winds blow from the North. Native trees look strange and never lose their leaves.
Canada Canada is a great country. The national emblem of Canada is the maple leaf. Eskimos and Indians were the first to settle in Canada, they came from Asia.
