Conflicts happen because people are different: they want different things, they have different ideas and their values are different.
Conflicts happen because people do not listen to each other well.
They think about what they want to say and don’t really hear what the other person is saying.

I want to tell you about conflicts between roommates.
I liked to do my home work in the quiet, but my sister liked to listen to music when she did her home work.
And it can lead to conflicts.
But we resolve conflicts peacefully.

A peaceful resolution to a conflict is very important because conflicts can lead to fights, bad relations and violence.
If conflicts happen between parties or states they can lead to war.
That is why people should try to prevent conflicts.

The five steps to resolve a conflict

1.decide what the problem is.
2. let everyone suggest an idea about how to solve the problem.
3. together discuss what will happen with each idea.
4.choose the best idea.
5.put the idea into action.

If you have a conflict you should hear what the other person is saying.
You can have better relations with people if you resolve a conflict peacefully.
