The Houses of Parliament The Houses of Parliament stands near the Thames. The country`s leaders speak there.
Westminster Abbey Westminster Abbey is a symbol of London. It was built in 1065 by King Edward. The coronation of all British kings and queens takes place there. Some famous English people are buried there.
The Tower of London You can see the Tower from the river Thames. The Tower is very old and has a cruel history. It`s not just one building. A lot of tourists visit the Tower of London, because of the Tower's evil reputation as a prison. The Tower is famous as home of the Crown Jewels.
The White Tower The White Tower is the oldest part of The Tower of London. The White Tower was the original Tower of London and now houses a display of weapons and armory. It was built by William the Conqueror from around 1080 to 1100.
The Bloody Tower The Bloody Tower is near the river. It has a history of blood-the blood of men, women and even children. You do not see blood there today.
Buckingham Palace Buckingham Palace is the place where British kings and queens live when they are in London. A lot of tourists go there to see The Changing of the Guard.
Trafalgar Square It is the most beautiful place in London. In the middle of the square stands a tall column. It is a monument to Admiral Nelson. There are two beautiful fountains in the square. Every day many tourists visit Trafalgar square.
Tower Bridge The Tower Bridge was built in 1894. It`s one of the most famous bridges across the Thames. It opens and ships go up and down the river. It is next to the Tower of London.
