Founded in 1888 by the Sheridan brothers. In 2000-2012, a German—language version of the newspaper, the Financial Times Deutschland, was also published. The international business newspaper is published in English in 24 cities of the world with a total circulation of about 356 thousand copies. From 1957 to November 2015, the newspaper was owned by the British media holding Pearson PLC.
On November 30, 2015, the Japanese media corporation Nikkei acquired 100% of the shares of the FT Group media group, including the Financial Times newspaper. In addition to the daily edition, "Financial Times", the Sunday supplement "TF Weekend" and the monthly magazine "How to Spend It" are published, filled with articles about real estate (mansions, yachts) and luxury consumer goods (clothing, watches, etc.).
