Symbols of Canada

Canada, like any other country, has its own national symbols. They can be official and unofficial, but all these signs show the cultural heritage of the country.

Maple has a special meaning for Canadians. For almost 150 years, the maple leaf has been considered an exclusively Canadian sign.

Sugar maple in the country is a source of maple syrup. Maple leaf syrup belongs to the national Canadian products.

The beaver is a symbol of the Canadian lands. After the arrival of the first settlers, beaver hunting became the most popular in the country. At first, beaver skins were instead of money.

The first stamp in the country depicted a beaver.

The moose is also considered a symbol of Canada. The Indians considered moose sacred animals. This word can be found in the names of rivers, lakes and mountains of Canada.

The Royal Mounted Police is the pride of Canadians. The police were effective, and they were spread throughout Canada.

Today, the mounted police are fighting crime, terrorism, and investigating. Since the introduction of this police in Canada, the crime rate in the country has become very low.
