New Zealand is a big and developed country located in the south-west of the Pacific Ocean. New Zealand is situated 1,700 kilometers east of Australia on 2 islands - the North Island and the South Island. There are also around 700 small islands.
New Zealand was discovered by the Europeans in 1642. The original inhabitants of the county were the Maori tribe. During the next century Great Britain started developing the land and in 1840 it became a British colony.

Nowadays New Zealand is an independent country and a constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy. Technically Charles III is the ruler of the country but the government of New Zealand has the right to establish its own laws.
The population of New Zealand is 4.6 million people. The capital of the country is Wellington. The biggest city is Auckland. The official language of the country is English but the original inhabitants managed to save their language - Maori. Around 150 thousand people can speak it.

New Zealand is famous for its beautiful nature. It’s mostly mountains and hills and there are beautiful valleys near the coastal zones.
The country is rich in natural resources but on an industrial scale they are sourcing oil, gas, hard coal, precious metals and iron sand. Agriculture is the main economical field. Well managed trading system with the USA, Great Britain, Australia and Japan helps the country to be ranked high in the world.
