Past continuous

The Past Continuous обычно используется, когда мы хотим подчеркнуть продолжительность действия в прошлом.
The Past Continuous также используется, чтобы подчеркнуть то, что происходило в определенный момент в прошлом.

Определить, что в данном предложении следует использовать Past Continuous, вам помогут следующие слова-маркеры:

at 7 a.m. – в 7 утра (вместо 7 a.m. можно подставить любое другое время, важно именно указание на конкретный период времени);
all day/night (long) – весь день/всю ночь (напролет);
all the time – все время;
while – в то время как;
when – когда (когда что-то произошло).
